our body speaks. are you willing to listen?

About

Nice to meet you here, my name is Melanie. With genuine care, heartfelt passion and a never-ending fascination for the female body & mind, I am happy to guide you on your own unique journey to optimal well-being. I believe everything in our system is connected. That’s why I approach my work in a holistic way: merging ancient Eastern practices with modern science. A beautiful mix of breathwork, yoga & movement, (Ayurvedic) nutrition, energetic practices and mindfulness.

I love to bring in ancient wisdom, practices and rituals from Chinese Medicine and India. At the same time I enjoy my share of grounded science. By merging these approaches, and diving into diverse studies, I’ve learned to read the body from different angles. One thing keeps coming up, though: our bodies are continuously speaking to us and giving us information about how we are truly doing in each moment – body, mind, heart and soul. The question is: do we sufficiently allow ourselves to slow down, sensitize and turn inward, so that we can actually hear what it has to say?

Mission women’s health

  • Did you know over 20 million women suffer from PCOS, fibroids, endometreosis, painful periods or thyroid issues?
  • That the early symptoms of a heart attack in a female body are somewhat different from our male counterparts, yet for a long time we have been taught to recognize the ‘male symptoms’?
  • That on average a woman goes through 500 menstrual cycles over a lifetime? Yet we know so little about how we can ‘read’ them and how to support ourselves through the different phases of it
  • That the number of women who are misdiagnosed when going through (peri)menopause is increasing?
  • That the majority of women don’t know that their periods, the condition of the skin and bowel movements can be indicators of how well their hormones are balanced?

Hormones affect everything. Unfortunately, understanding our female menstrual & life cycle, (peri)menopause, hormonal system and what it truly means to live in a cyclical woman’s body, is not the norm in today’s society. Yet it is essential for our well-being as a woman to know how our own body & natural rhythms work. With The Well Women, I want to contribute in changing that. Women are not just men with breast. We are actually built differently: from the way we strengthen our muscles to how our hormones play out. Women’s health is a whole different, and sometimes underexposed, category. Therefore, I am excited to direct my work to advocating specifically the well-being of women.
